Caliche Puerto Rican Rum is a blend of 4 aged rums: 3 rums aged 3 to 5 years in American white oak barrels and a fourth aged up to 20 years in the solera method.
Nico's tasting note
The nose opens with a very light rum, with ethereal vapours. The notes of acidic red fruits or lychees are piquant, and lead us naturally to spices and chilli. A little solvent floats in the air, concealing a little melon and peach.
The palate is just as light, but it does not fail to catch the palate with a forgotten bread in the toaster. The woodiness had remained discreet on the nose, it now invades the mouth and wrings out the taste buds. The spices quiver on the tongue and bind with the alcohol in a sparkling atmosphere.
The finish is discreet, with a hint of vanilla on the woody side.
"A very light rum, mainly intended for cocktails..."
