Tasting notes from Thomas
The nose forms a molten block that seems, at first, difficult to decipher. Yet in just a few moments, chocolate cream, mandarin oranges, cardamom and a hint of licorice emerge.
Aeration reveals notes of smoked wood and hazelnut. There are also hints of graphite, honey and slivered almonds.
The palate is supple and slightly airy. Once again, chocolate cream and mandarin oranges dominate at first. Licorice, hazelnut and smoky wood become more incisive in the second half. A few spices finally make their appearance (nutmeg first).
The finish is more delicate and drier. While the chocolate has held up well, the citrus has faded. What remains on the palate is licorice, smoky wood, hazelnut and a few spices (nutmeg, cardamom).
" A no-nonsense whisky where chocolate dessert rubs shoulders with liquorice and burnt wood...".

Thanks for the gift. A very good discovery but the discovery bottle is just too small.
