Karukera Double Distillat 2008 & 2013 is a blend of molasses rum and agricultural rum, aged in Karukera's cellars on the Marquisat de Sainte-Marie estate.
The molasses rum was aged in American white oak barrels, while the pure cane juice rum was aged in French pedunculate oak barrels. The blending of this double distillate was carried out in 2016 in French oak barrels that had once contained cognac.
This is a limited edition that issued a total of 2179 bottles in 2021, bottled brut de fût and without cold filtration. Each bottle is numbered.

A rather sweet rum, the blend of pure cane and molasses is quite successful. Not much on the nose, but the finish is interesting.
