For this new cuvée, Naga takes us to the Indochinese Peninsula.
Naga Edition Siam is aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 10 years.
Its long maturation under wood gives Naga Edition Siam a supple, complex structure.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with yellow fruits, peaches, sweet ripe apricots, white grapes and reines-claudes. This sunny side is powdered with a pinch of sweet spice, which skims the surface of lightly toasted white oak.
Aeration brings a certain elegance to the whole, balancing it with more spice and wood. Vanilla and toasted coconut are generous and engaging, while the fruit becomes considerably more concentrated.
The palate is very soft, but not really sweet. The texture is fluid, with a powdery, spicy woodiness. The yellow fruits here are more candied, and are joined by more exotic fruits. They are also caressed by a handful of velvety aromatic herbs, mingling with the fiber of white oak.
The finish is sweet and caramelized, with vanilla lingering in the mind for quite a while, then giving way to a roasted sensation.
"A very pretty rum that shows several facets, for a balanced, gourmet result..."
