The Penny Blue brand is enriched with a 9th batch of its XO rum. This rum comes from the Medine distillery, the oldest in Mauritius. Its name refers to the rarest and most expensive stamp in the world.
This rum is produced by distilling molasses fermented for 48 hours. The distillation is done in a column under the supervision of Jean-François Koenig, the master distiller.
For this edition, the tropical aging was done in a combination of cognac, whisky and Sauternes barrels.
