Nico's tasting notes
The nose is greedy and roundly fruity. Like a cane sugar syrup, the roundness captures tangy, softly vegetal aromas. The rum then settles into a woody, caramelized indulgence, with a few roasted touches.
Aeration further enhances comfort, and introduces a little smoke. In the thick scrolls, you can distinguish wood, but also a hint of the oiliness of roasted, then pressed nuts.
The palate offers a balance between sweet spices (vanilla) that melt on the palate, and a more dynamic character offered by some slightly punchier spices. The toasty woodiness on the surface develops notes of roasted, caramelized nuts and pecans, then its tender fiber melts into caramel.
The finish sends out a little puff of smoke, with a furtive impression of slightly heavier rum, then a very rounded sensation.
"A rum with an interesting personality, while playing on the well-known range of the Latin tradition..."
