Planteray Rum Sealander is part of the great tradition of blended rums, bringing together three emblematic terroirs: Barbados, one of the founding lands of molasses rum; Fiji, whose sugar cane cultivation became established throughout the 20th century; and Mauritius, heir to a long tradition of agricultural rum.
At the head of this project, Alexandre Gabriel, cellar master of Maison Ferrand, perpetuates the know-how acquired over decades in the art of blends.
The aging process illustrates the so-called “double aging” method, dear to the house: an initial rest of several years in bourbon barrels in a tropical climate, followed by refinement in Charente, in cognac barrels. This passage from the Caribbean Sea to French cellars testifies to a historical continuity where maritime trade and European traditions intersect to give birth to a singular rum, reflecting a mastered multicultural heritage.
