RL Seale's is a rum that is simply named after the current owner of the Foursquare distillery, Richard Laurence Seale.
In the beginning, the rum was created as a reference for the distillery, only available on site. Eventually, the creator decided to market it. To do so, he packaged it in a black bottle with an unusual shape. Its particular shape seems to have been designed so that the rum flows easily, without turbulence.
This blend is made by blending several rums that are at least 10 years old in American oak barrels. An additional maturation is carried out at the end of the process in barrels that have contained brandy.
Laurent's tasting note
Its colour is halfway between gold and copper.
On the nose, it is balanced, with the different aromas complementing each other in a beautiful way. Raisins, honey, a fine woodiness and light orange notes make up its profile. The whole is dry.
On the palate the balance is also present as the alcohol is well dosed. The orange dominates here and light notes of banana appear. The texture is pleasant.
The finish is relatively long. It is woody and dry (more and more). After a while light tobacco notes appear.
"A typical Barbados rum from the Foursquare house, which only produces rums strictly without any additions, which is remarkable."

This rum is really special to my taste. It made me think of a rum - whisky blend. Really not my cup of tea.
