Samaroli Yehmon returns in 2022 with a trilogy of assemblages.
Vintage Edition is a blend of four rums. The first was distilled in Guadeloupe in 2013, the second in Haiti in 2004, followed by a rum distilled in Guatemala in 2011, and finally a distillate from Panama produced in 2010.
This cuvée was assembled in Scotland in 2022, in the cellars of Italian bottler Samaroli. 788 numbered bottles were produced.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is generously coated with caramel and vanilla, with a tangy nuance that glides over the roasting oak. The rum seems mellow and swollen with deliciousness, immediately available and engaging.
Aeration reveals an even more inspiring concentration, as well as a more "serious", roasted side. This nougatine, full of toasted, caramelized nuts, is a real delicacy.
The palate is soft and mellow, yet the rum spreads and crushes on the taste buds with a rather thick grain, like a paste of toasted nuts and toasted oak. Its presence on the palate is truly palpable, and is made fluid by a kind of vanilla oil or syrup that softens it all.
The finish is like a nougatine that melts on the tongue, encrusted with bursts of nuts and sweet pepper.
"A gourmet rum with a dense, almost praline-like texture and plenty of toast..."
Manuelle Rubinat
Very good
