Don Modesto Reposado is a tequila made from blue agave grown in Amatitán, a municipality in Jaliscan, a state west of Mexico City.
This is a tequila distilled twice, and aged for 7 months in oak barrels before bottling.
Each of these beautiful bottles is hand-blown by local craftsmen.
Tasting notes from Thomas
The nose offers citrusy agave (yuzu, mandarin). Slightly sour, peppery cream is also present, while fresh white fruit and a hint of caramelized pineapple add a fruity touch. This spicy nose gets straight to the point.
A few moments later, a hint of star anise and coriander add contrasting greenness to this opening.
The palate is quite lively, well supported by its green character. Agave and coriander lead the way, quickly joined by black pepper and hints of cream and leather. The bitterness of the citrus fruits comes through on the second half of the palate, while the whole remains fairly airy (ginger, fresh citrus). The texture is quite oily.
The soft finish synthesizes the main notes: agave meets peppery cream, citrus and a touch of coriander.
"A tequila that brings out peppercorns amid dense vegetation... "
Bucko
A very good tequila, not to be drunk chilled, it's worth more than that.

Discovered in Mexico, it's a real delight to be able to taste them at home.
Recommended for connoisseurs, not for shoots.
