Amrut Two Indies Dark Rum is a blend of pot still and column rums from India and the Caribbean. It is produced by the Indian distillery Amrut.
The composition of this cuvée includes two types of rum:
- a rum distilled in the Indian state of Karnataka, in an iron still from jaggery, then aged in American oak barrels,
- and a blend of aged rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana.
Note: jaggery is an unrefined sugar obtained by heating sugarcane juice. It is traditionally used in Indian desserts.
