Bacardi Gold is one of the world's most popular amber rums. It is a blend of several rums, all column-distilled and aged for 3 to 5 years.
It is widely used by bartenders all over the world to make the Cuba Libre or the Piña Colada.
Nico's tasting notes
The first nose is very light, with floral and slightly fruity notes. The wood is also light, covered with a caramel varnish. A few spices perfume the woody notes, with vanilla at the top. It's soft but not too round, and not too sweet.
Aeration reveals a rather dry, strongly toasted woodiness. It has a strawy, woody, almost earthy quality. Rest again brings sweetness, vanilla and caramel, but the profile remains very light.
The palate is very light and quite round. The rum is fluid and vanilla-like, with a light touch of wood and caramel.
The finish returns to slightly spicy, alcoholic notes.
"The few years spent in barrel bring a little wood and vanilla to your classic Bacardi..."
Josiane
This is a rum that can be drunk on an everyday basis, without reaching new heights.

A classic rum of no particular interest. But that's just a personal opinion.

Well, no opinion on the quality/price ratio because it was a sample
So as they say, it's better when it's free!

I haven't tried it yet, but it's a nice idea.
