Bielle 2011 10 ans represents all the expertise of the Bielle distillery, this jewel of the island of Marie-Galante. This aged agricultural rum is distilled from the pure juice of the cane grown on this small, authentic, rural island.
Ageing took place in 2011, for 10 years of maturation in a tropical climate. The rum was racked and bottled after reduction in 2021.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is firmly woody at first, opening up to roasting and spices. It gradually melts into caramel, then jam, as the first fruits begin to appear.
Aeration completely releases the rum, which is now as intense as it is delicious. The jammy fruits are powerful, supported by a warm honey that seems to make them shine. They come from completely candied cane juice, with a patina of age and oak garnished with sweet spices.
On the palate, the rum reveals a mellow, spice-infused beeswax that coats the palate while piquing it with dry, woody flavors. Ripe, weathered cane follows, spreading its aromas of yellow fruit jam mingled with milk chocolate.
The finish is greedy and serious at the same time, with a tender woodiness and accents of blond tobacco and exotic pepper.
"A vintage that offers the fruity, jammy identity of Bielle in an elegantly wooded setting...".

I'm not thrilled, but okay for beginners
