This Cane Island rum is a limited edition made from Jamaican molasses rums. It is pot still distilled by Clarendon and Lluidas Vale.
The blend was aged for 10 years in American white oak barrels. Bottling produced 3600 bottles.
Yoann's tasting notes
The nose of this rum is in a rather tropical register. Initially, vanilla carried by tropical fruits takes the lead. A very ripe pineapple is present, accompanied by apricots and grapes. The wood is young and tender, sprinkled with spices. Notes of pepper lightly tickle our nostrils.
With a little airing, notes of tobacco and milk chocolate appear. This nose immediately recalls the funky side of Jamaica.
On the palate, pineapple and rather dry apricot confirm their presence within the aromatic framework. The rum is slightly oily and easily coats the palate. The vanilla is creamy and goes perfectly with the woody notes, which are fine and elegant. Spices and notably pepper awaken the taste buds accompanied by light notes of tobacco.
The finish is rather interesting and quite long on pepper and tobacco. The funky side of Jamaican rums is present but just enough.
