Cane Island Thailand 5 ans is a first in the world of rum. This is the first time that a molasses rum from Thailand has been selected by an independent bottler, and even the first time that a molasses rum from this country has been distributed in France.
Cane Island's Single Estate collection is dedicated to a specific distillery. The name of the distillery is not given, but it is known to be located in the province of Pathum Thani. We can therefore assume that it is the Sura Bangyikhan distillery, the origin of the famous Hong Thong.
After column distillation, this molasses rum is aged for 5 years on site, in American oak barrels, without topping up.
This rum won a silver medal at the Top Rum World Spirits Awards.
