Caroni 1998 Balas Dayanand Balloon Employees4th release is part of a series paying tribute to the employees of the legendary Trinidad distillery.
Dayanand "Yunkoo" Balloon worked for 10 years at the Caroni distillery. He is featured on the label. He was immortalized by the late photographer and friend of Luca Gargano, Fredi Macarini.
Distilled in columns in 1998, this molasses rum is categorized as a "Heavy Rum" typical of the Caroni distillery style. It is a blend made from 6 casks that have benefited from 22 years of tropical aging and were selected on April 12, 2019 at the Caroni Ceremony. On that day, Luca Gargano gathered 26 rum enthusiasts to taste the last remaining casks of these sought-after rums.
For this edition, the angels' share is over 80%. 1180 bottles of this rum were bottled brut de fût.
