Carúpano Ron Añejo 12 is a traditional Spanish molasses rum distilled in Venezuela.
The rum is aged in American white oak barrels that have not been topped up during aging. Ouillage is the process of replacing the angels' share (evaporation) with rum from another barrel, so that the barrels are only completely filled.
Barrels aged between 4 and 12 years are then blended for bottling.
