Coming from the fertile lands of Martinique, La Favorite Exploration n°6.1 is a unique agricultural rum, born from pure, freshly pressed cane juice, grown on the plots of the family home.
After harvesting—in 2022 for this Exploration No. 6.1 edition—the cane juice undergoes natural fermentation, where the yeasts unfold freely and transform the sugar into cane wine. This delicate process, which varies depending on climatic conditions, prepares the material for distillation. This is carried out in a traditional Creole column, faithful to the island's agricultural know-how. The resulting distillate is then revealed to be pure, clear, and rich with Martinique's typical characteristics.
Then comes the aging process. For this edition, bottled in 2024, the rum was aged in five ex-Sauternes oak barrels, carefully selected from the Navarre cooperage, to reveal balance and complexity.
Bottled at 45% vol., this rum retains all the richness resulting from its maturation and uncompromisingly expresses the desire of the La Favorite distillery: to offer limited editions, both technical and authentic, which celebrate the terroir, family tradition and the creativity of the house. Exploration n°6.1 is thus a milestone in a rare collection, dedicated to amateurs in search of precision and originality.
