Legendario Carta Blanca Superior is actually a rum aged for several years in oak barrels. It is then partially filtered to become white again.
This rum has a slightly oily texture. It can be drunk neat, over ice or with a squeeze of lemon, or used as the base for a successful cocktail.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, you can feel the influence of a rather aromatic rum, even if you can guess that it's not the largest part of the blend. A vegetal, fruity side emerges, which is quickly overlaid by a wave of vanilla sweetness. The exotic fruits are coated and plumped up, for a round but balanced profile.
Aeration brings freshness and fruit, with a good deal of citrus and herbaceous notes. One might almost think of a slightly sweet rhum agricole. The light woodiness adds a little spice to the vegetal aromas, and the fruit tends to be increasingly sweet and tart.
The palate is very round and light. The rum floats easily on the palate, without clinging. The complexity of the nose gives way to notes of vanilla and light wood.
The finish returns on fresh, herbaceous notes, with a hint of citrus zest.
"This light rum will enrich your cocktails thanks to a rather aromatic and subtle nose..."
