Plantation Rum Belize XO 41°: Description and customer reviews

Originally from Central America, Plantation Rum Belize XO is a very old traditional single cask rum (without blending) aged for a total of ten years. After distillation of the molasses, the rum was aged for 8 years in bourbon oak casks before spending a further two years in barrels formerly used for cognac. A final refining phase was carried out in French barrels that had contained a prestigious sweet wine: Pineau des Charentes.

The result is a smooth, well-balanced rum that makes for a fine tasting experience. Plantation Rum Belize XO is produced in an edition of less than 500. A rare edition.

Tasting notes

The years spent in the various casks have given Plantation Rum Belize XO a mahogany color.
On the nose, the rum exalts its sweet character, marked by aromas of candied fruit and caramel. As it airs, it tends towards notes of vanilla and almond.

On the palate, the rum reveals a vegetal touch, to which are added spicy notes, coffee, lightly burnt caramel and a hint of wood.
