Planteray Barbados 2018 Saint Estephe finish is an edition of the “Single Cask 2024” collection of the Planteray Rum brand.
Made from the fermentation of molasses, this rum was traditionally distilled in pot stills and columns at WIRD in 2018.
This Barbados rum boasts a double aging process and an exceptional finish. Indeed, this rum benefited from an initial 3-year maturation in ex-bourbon American oak barrels in the tropical climate of Barbados. The aging then continued in France, at Planteray, in Ferrand cognac barrels for an additional 2 years. It was only after this double aging process that the distillate benefited from a 12-month refinement in Saint Estèphe wine barrels.
Bottled in 2024, cask no. 17 of this expression was originally an exclusive to Dutch distributor Right Spirits.
