Saint Aubin 1819 Dark Premium Rum is a pure cane juice rum produced in Mauritius, on an estate that has been growing sugar cane since 1819. It takes its name from one of its first owners, Pierre de Saint Aubin.
Launched in 2003, the Saint Aubin distillery was a pioneer on the island in the production of rum made from pure cane juice.
The canes are harvested by hand, and the rum is distilled in a traditional copper column. After distillation, it is reduced with the estate's spring water, which is not very mineral. Bottling takes place after some time in casks for ageing.
