Séverin VSOP 42°: Description and customer reviews

Séverin VSOP is an old rum that has slowly been impregnated with the aromas of the bourbon oak barrels and the terroir of northern Basse-Terre over the course of four years in the Cellar.

Séverin VSOP is an ideal introduction to the brand's aged rums, either dry or on the rocks.

Laurent's tasting notes

Its dress is gold.

On the nose, we have a rather surprising combination. Baked caramel combined with olives in brine (and the saltiness that implies). Add peppery, orange and licorice notes and you have a relatively complex nose.

On the palate, the attack is supple and the salty note is very present. The main notes are cooked caramel, pepper and orange.

The finish is long, still salty, with baked caramel and olives returning in force. It lingers on the palate for a long time. After a few moments, a slightly empyreumatic note emerges.

Discovered in St Malo. Too bad there's no more production.
