Barikenn
Nicolas Marx, a Breton from the Lannion region, is at the origin of the independent bottling brand Barikenn. It was a trip to the West Indies that triggered his passion for rum, which he nurtured for some fifteen years. Over time, he came up with the idea of creating his own brand. At the outset, it was for his own pleasure, but the aim was above all to share his discoveries with enthusiasts.
Barikenn was born in 2019, with single casks that received rave reviews from the press and specialists. Nicolas chooses the right degree of bottling, neither too sweet nor too strong. This allows him to do justice to the product without overdoing the strength. To achieve this, his rums are slowly brewed and diluted with Monts d'Arrée spring water. They are then bottled and labeled by hand, without cold filtration, added sugar or coloring. Often hailed for their good value, the single casks are soon joined by a brut de colonne agricole, which will itself be followed by house blends. Read less
