Bumbu XO is a blend of rums distilled in Panama and aged on site in American bourbon barrels. Some vintages are up to 18 years old.
Finishing in sherry casks adds the final touch to this gourmet rum before bottling.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens on a roasted register, with strongly toasted oak, coffee, charcoal and roasted nuts. A little vanilla sweetness gradually coats all this, along with a slightly fruity cane syrup.
With aeration, the nuts become increasingly concentrated and roasted, the coffee even tighter. It's easy to imagine a truly charred barrel.
The palate is round and very caramelized. The sweet rum has licked the toasted wood and taken all its vanilla with it. The coffee and roasted nuts are generously coated, so that their burnt side is totally melted.
The finish unfolds on the same roasted notes.
