Benjamin Guthmann doesn't limit himself to rum through his bottling brand. Here, he offers an Armagnac from Domaine d'Espérance. The latter is owned by a descendant of the musketeer d'Artagnan, located in the heart of the Bas Armagnac appellation.
This Bas-Armagnac, distilled in 2001 by Mr. Roumat (traveling distiller in Villeneuve-de-Marsan) is made entirely from the folle-blanche grape variety. It was aged for 24 years in a semi-dry/semi-humid cellar on the estate.
This spirit has not been reduced. The very low degree distillation (52°) and the storage conditions of the barrel give a respectable 49.1° at bottling.
With this vintage, Spirit Gallery promises us an Armagnac for Rum Lovers!
