Wolfburn Morven Lightly Peated 10 ppm has been distilled 2 times in small pot stills.
Wolfburn has opted for a lightly peated version (10 ppm) to preserve its tender character.
Its name, Morven, refers to the mountain in the Caithness region, surrounded by peat bogs.
It is not cold-filtered.
Pauline's tasting notes
On the nose, the smoke is fairly discreet and the cereal, malty side dominates.
Smooth and balanced on the palate. The peat is quite oily, evolving on fruit. Flavors of pear give way to vegetal notes for an ashy finish.
"Ideal for getting to grips with peat, as an introduction."
