Port Charlotte Pomerol Cask 2013 54.5° is the 6th opus of the Cask Exploration Series collection.
This is a single malt whisky produced on the Scottish island of Islay. It is made from 100% Scottish malted barley with a high peat content (40 ppm).
This cuvée was aged for 9 years, first in bourbon barrels (4 years), then in pomerol barrels (5 years).
This Port Charlotte by Bruichladdich master distiller Adam Hannett is the first reference in the Cask Exploration series to be aged in Pomerol casks.
Pomerol is a Bordeaux appellation of excellent red wines.
This whisky has not been chill-filtered, and its color is natural.
Pascal BEAUCAMP
A beautiful combination between the characteristic peat of PC, a little "dirty", farmhouse, and notes of red fruits inherited from Pomerol, and above all, great quality, no tannin.
