1423 SBS
The name 1423 SBS refers to the range of single casks (Single Barrel Selection) from independent Danish bottler 1423 World Class Spirits.
This brand was created in 2008 by a group of friends with a passion for Whisky. When they were persuaded to taste a rum at a spirits fair, it was love at first sight, and they soon decided to buy their own cask of rum.
A rum from Trinidad made its way to Denmark, and was quickly bottled in 2009. Subsequently, they contacted other producers and distributors to start building a range. Initial feedback from Costa Rica 's Centenario and British merchant Bristol was positive, and 1423 World Class Spirits was launched.
Today, the company is a major distributor in Denmark, selling rum classics (Bristol, Summum, Rum Bar...) and other spirits(whisky, gin, pisco...), as well as their own products (1423 SBS and Esclavo).
The S.BS. range comprises rums from all origins(Belize, Jamaica, Venezuela, Guyana), bottled brut de fût. These are very limited editions, as the number of bottles is generally between 200 and 250, due to the fact that they are single casks. The information on the bottles is very comprehensive, and we appreciate knowing the distillery of origin, the type of distillation, the raw material and the dates of distillation and bottling.
Let's note that 1423 SBS were the first to offer this very interesting tasting experience: a boxed set of Caroni rum made up of 4 bottles of the same vintage (1997) but from 4 different casks. Read less
