Elements of Islay

In 1999, British online boutique "The Whisky Exchange" began independent bottling. Then, in 2008, it launched the "Elements of Islay" brand as a tribute to Islay, the island of peat.
Elements of Islayis sold in 50cl bottles with a pharmaceutical-inspired look.
There are two blended malts: Elements of Islay Peat Pure Islay (45°) and Elements of Islay Peat Full Proof (cask strength). There are also single malts.
Thus, each distillery is represented by two letters as if it were an element of the periodic table:
Ar for Ardbeg. Bn for Bunnahabhain. Br for Bruichladdich. Bw for Bowmore. CI for Caol Ila. Kh for Kilchoman. Lg for Lagavulin. Ln for Loch Indal (very peaty Bruichladdich). Lp for Laphroaig. Ma for Margadale (peaty Bunnahabhain). Oc for Octomore. Pe for Port Ellen. PI for Port Charlotte.
Each "Elements of Islay" is bottled cask-aged and not chill-filtered. Each edition is numbered and includes several casks from a single distillery. Read less
