Tamosi
Tamosi is an independent bottling brand created by Benjamin Boothe and his Levy Lane Rum Company. This Englishman, born of Jamaican and Guyanese parents, is based in Amsterdam. His great-grandfather, son of the master distiller in Albion, Guyana, was himself a master distiller in Blairmont!
Tamosi explores the history of the Caribbean through the eyes of its first inhabitants. Its name comes from the language of the Caribbean Indians, cousins of the Arawaks. It means "The Ancient, the Creator".
Each bottling tells us a story from the mythology of ancient Caribbean peoples. The Hiali, for example, took us to Marie Galante with Père Labat. The Kanaima was dedicated to Demerara, and the Tiba to Panama.
Tamosi rums are sometimes single casks, sometimes blends, and are always no-added. Part of the profits go to associations supporting indigenous communities internationally, including Guyana's Eagle Clan Arawaks. Read less
