Saint Aubin 1819 Classic Coconut is first and foremost an agricultural rum distilled in a copper column still. Coconut is then macerated for a long time in this pure cane juice rum.
While this coconut-infused rum is an excellent base for cocktails, it can also be served neat, very chilled over ice.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, the relatively light rum is generously perfumed with coconut oil. The fruit is natural and not too sweet, giving us a glimpse of a fairly well-balanced rum. The coconut definitely takes hold, even with a little aeration. It controls the situation brilliantly.
The palate is very smooth, a little fruity and lemony. The palate is sweet, slightly fruity and lemony, and is of course filled with full-fat coconut, first in the form of water, then thicker, more concentrated milk. The acidity of the rum comes through, and the combination is resolutely gourmand.
"A rather sweet rum-coconut that will serve as the base for many cocktails, but can also be enjoyed in chilled shots..."
